Mission Statement:
Sanitation is a way of life, it is the quality of life that is expressed in the clean home, farm, neighborhood, and community. Being a way of life it must come from within the people nourished by knowledge and an obligation for human existence.
Department Description:
1. Regulates and approves the disposal of all wastewater, both business and residential, in the unincorporated areas of the county.
2. Regulates and oversees the disposal of solid wastes in the county.
3. Works with the Zoning Office toward the development of the sanitation aspects of housing subdivisions. Conducts environmental assessments.
4. Inspects and samples private water wells in county.
5. Handles general complaints relating to the environment.
